Electroflight is pleased to announce three new appointments to its board of directors effective immediately. These key appointments will help Electroflight deliver on its aim of establishing as a supplier of high integrity, bespoke battery systems and surrounding technologies into the aerospace industry. Electroflight would like to thank its outgoing Managing Director and Founder Roger Targett for his work to date and continued contribution in his new role as Founding Director.
Dr Graham Thornton appointed Chairman of Electroflight Limited July 2019
Graham Thornton has spent 35 years in the aerospace & defence industry, holding senior executive positions at Schlumberger, Dowty, Smiths Group, TRW Aeronautical Systems and Northrop Grumman, where he was Chairman and Managing Director of its UK operations. Over the last 15 years he has been involved with many high-tech small and medium-size companies in the renewable energy, aerospace and defence sectors, and is currently Chairman of Cullum Detuners Limited, Chairman of C Zero Limited, and a non-executive director of Avingtrans plc.
His spent his early career as a lecturer and researcher at Oxford University, specialising in superconducting machinery and later in aerodynamics. He is a chartered mechanical engineer, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Graham brings a wealth of technical and business experience to Electroflight, and he is delighted to be playing a part in the further development of the Company.

Stjohn Youngman appointed Managing Director of Electroflight Limited September 2019
Stjohn Youngman has spent his early career in the automotive electrification industry, working for a range of businesses from start-ups to established OEMs. Including positions in China supporting manufacturing and customer applications.
Stjohn was one of Electroflight’s earliest employees, developing and project managing the continuing delivery of the ACCEL program into Rolls Royce. Stjohn is looking forward to contributing to the continued success and growth of Electroflight in his new role.

Electroflight Limited strengthens board with new Technical Director
Electroflight has confirmed the appointment of former Williams Advanced Engineering veteran Douglas Campbell as its new Technical Director.
In his new role, which sees him join the company’s board of directors, Mr Campbell will be responsible for overseeing Electroflight’s overall technical strategy and new product development. His appointment will help Electroflight remain at the forefront of the aviation electrification sector and continue to expand into new areas of innovation in new markets around the world.
Douglas has forged a reputation as one of the automotive and motorsport industries’ leading experts in the field of energy storage, having developed KERS for various Formula 1 teams, the battery system for the Jaguar CX-75 hypercar program and for the FIA Formula E race series. His strong experience and expertise are directly transferable to aviation and will help to take Electroflight to the next level of commercial growth and technical innovation.
